Music Genie ("we," "our," or "us") respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. This Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Policy outlines how we address allegations of copyright infringement in accordance with the DMCA.
Music Genie has registered a designated DMCA agent with the U.S. Copyright Office in compliance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(2). Our registration is available in the Copyright Office's online directory at copyright.gov/dmca-directory.
2. Our Commitment to Copyright Safety
Music Genie uses AI technology to generate original music compositions. Our AI models are designed to create new, unique musical works rather than reproduce existing copyrighted material. Key aspects of our approach:
- Original Generation: All music is generated algorithmically and does not copy existing songs.
- No Sampling: We do not use samples, loops, or excerpts from copyrighted recordings.
- Unique Compositions: Each generated track is a unique composition created for the specific user.
3. Reporting Copyright Infringement
If you believe that content available through Music Genie infringes your copyright, please submit a written DMCA notice containing the following information:
- Identification: A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- Location: The URL or specific location of the allegedly infringing material on our service.
- Contact Information: Your name, address, phone number, and email address.
- Good Faith Statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- Accuracy Statement: A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
- Signature: Your physical or electronic signature.

5. Counter-Notification
If you believe your content was wrongly removed due to a DMCA notice, you may submit a counter-notification containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, and phone number
- A statement consenting to jurisdiction of the federal court in your district
Counter-Notice Timeline
- Counter-notice must be submitted within 10 business days of receiving removal notification
- We will forward your counter-notice to the original complainant within 1 business day
- If no lawsuit is filed within 10-14 business days, we will restore the content
- All timeframes are subject to 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(2)(C)
6. Repeat Infringer Policy
In accordance with Section 512(i) of the DMCA, Music Genie maintains a policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, account holders who are repeat infringers:
- 1First valid DMCA notice: Warning issued to account holder via email
- 2Second valid DMCA notice: 30-day suspension of music generation capabilities
- 3Third valid DMCA notice: Permanent account termination
A "valid DMCA notice" means a notice that complies with all requirements of 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) and is not successfully countered under § 512(g). We may also terminate accounts for any user who attempts to circumvent our copyright protection measures.
Counter-Notice Abuse: We reserve the right to terminate accounts that submit false or abusive counter-notices. Knowingly submitting a false counter-notice may result in liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
7. User-Generated Content
While Music Genie generates original AI music, users may upload video content to our platform for analysis. Users are solely responsible for ensuring they have the rights to upload any content to our service. We do not claim ownership of user uploads and process them solely for the purpose of generating matched music. Uploaded videos are deleted within 24 hours of processing.
8. AI-Generated Music and Content Identification Systems
Music generated through Music Genie is created algorithmically and is provided to users under our Terms of Service:
- Users receive perpetual, royalty-free commercial rights to use generated music.
- Music Genie does not register generated music with any automated content identification or copyright enforcement systems, including YouTube Content ID, Meta Rights Manager, TikTok's copyright detection, or Twitch's Audible Magic.
Important Disclaimer
While Music Genie does not register generated music with any content identification systems, automated detection systems across all platforms may occasionally flag AI-generated music due to:
- False positives from pattern matching algorithms
- Coincidental similarity to other compositions
MUSIC GENIE MAKES NO GUARANTEE THAT GENERATED MUSIC WILL NEVER BE FLAGGED BY AUTOMATED SYSTEMS ON ANY PLATFORM.
If You Receive a Copyright Claim on Any Platform:
- Dispute the claim through the platform's standard dispute process

- If the claim cannot be resolved, we will provide replacement music or account credit
9. False Claims Warning
Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing, or that material was removed or disabled by mistake, may be subject to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. Please ensure your claims are accurate before submitting a DMCA notice.
